Aliuomoakin Kids Art Class is a creative art and craft program where children learn drawing while exploring African art, culture, and history. Led by professional artist Kolawole Aliu Akinsola, the class introduces young students to the fundamentals of drawing using shapes, observation, and imagination while also discovering how art tells stories about culture and identity. In addition to drawing and painting, students will participate in hands-on art and craft activities, allowing them to experiment with different materials and creative techniques. A unique feature of this program is the introduction to African textile art, including traditional Adire (tie-and-dye fabric making) from Nigeria. Students will learn how patterns are created on fabric while discovering the cultural history behind this beautiful African art form. Through art, craft, and storytelling, children develop creativity, confidence, and an appreciation for cultural heritage. In this program students will: • Learn drawing fundamentals and hand control • Practice basic shapes and how shapes build objects • Explore color theory and creative composition • Participate in hands-on art and craft activities • Discover African art styles and cultural storytelling • Learn traditional Adire (tie-and-dye) fabric making • Create artworks inspired by African history and culture • Build confidence through creative expression Each class is designed to support beginners while encouraging imagination, curiosity, and self-expression. Students will complete guided art projects and leave each session proud of what they have created.
